For Families
Shaping the Future of Children's Health
At The Melbourne Children’s Campus, we’re not just delivering top-quality care — we’re also leading the way in finding better ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat childhood illness.
You can be part of this important work by joining one of the many research studies happening across our campus.
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU AND YOUR CHILD
What you can expect as a patient, research participant, or family member:
· Your child will only be invited to join a research study or clinical trial if it’s suitable for them.
· Saying no to a clinical trial will not affect the care or treatment your child receives.
· You’ll get clear information about the trial and have the chance to ask questions before deciding to join.
· Your child won’t be part of the trial unless you give written consent (this can be done electronically).
· You can change your mind and stop participating at any time, and your care will not be affected.
· Your rights as a patient will always be respected. This includes your right to access care, feel safe, be treated with respect, be involved in decisions, have your privacy protected, and give feedback.
Please see the Taking Part in Research brochure for more information on participating in research at the RCH.
